As much as we all enjoyed the old Podcast Kid Theme Song… when you’re 9-years-old “Who’s cuter than a kitty dressed as a puppy” isn’t going to cut it anymore. So we hired our favorite voice-over dude Scott Schaffer to record some new liners… then I got to work putting together the new theme.
What do you think of it?
I know this “Kids Sing To Frozen” thing has been done to death… but it hasn’t be done to death if you only consider my kids…
Hey folks. Long time no see. This is Jenna’s Dad, aka The Other Guy aka James Kennison aka the producer of Podcast Kid.
I’d like to announce our intention to reboot the Podcast Kid podcast… and we need your help.
Due to a series of unfortunate events my primary job and contribution to my family is generated by podcasting. I’d like to ask you to visit our Patreon.com page and see if you’d like to contibute toward our goal of at least $10 per episode to get things rolling again. Here’s the link:
Giving through Patreon is fun. You contribute an amount per episode and you unlock rewards along the way. It’s like Kickstarter but for episodic content.
The show downloads have never slowed down… not in nearly two years being offline. I’m constantly getting emails from fans all over the world asking if Podcast Kid will be making more shows. We’re going to try.
Visit the page. Read our story. See what we’re wanting to accomplish. I believe you can be a part of it.
This update for the parents and guardians.
As you know we haven’t produced a Podcast Kid in over a year. We here in the Kennison household are all well. We miss podcasting. It’s just that James (aka: The Other Guy aka: The Dad), had a serious bout with Major Depressive Disorder and a lot of things in our world have changed in the past year. Things are much better now and we hope that one day soon Podcast Kid will start again… this time with two kids! Both Jenna and her brother J would like to talk about stuff that matters to kids and their parents.
Adults can read a bit more about James’ story here. Things are almost back to normal now… (Most recent life update) but the article will give you an idea of why everything just kind of quit all at once.
Here are some links to things that I, Jenna’s Dad, am doing online that you might enjoy.

Of course there’s Twitter
Thanks for your support. Stay subscribed and who knows… maybe one day 9 year old Jenna and 5 year old J will invade your earbuds once again.
Listeners will remember 7 year-old Memozia from Japan who appeard a few episodes back. Jenna got a special letter from her and her family today. Apparently May has a special Children’s Day where folks hang “carp streamers” to celebrate the personalities of children and to wish them steady growth and good fortune.
Special thanks and well wishes from the Kennison family to the Yamamoto family!
Jenna, the Podcast Kid, will be participating in a BGMC Bike-a-thon on August 6th. Her goal is to raise at least $100 for kids around the world… and you can help!
BGMC stands for Boys and Girls Missions Challenge. Jenna loves giving to BGMC and has sacrificed special outings, privileges and even her school’s pizza day to raise money to help kids hear about Jesus’s love for them. Being 6 years old, she’s done everything she can to reach her $100 goal… and has topped out at 3 bucks. Her hope is to get enough sponsorships in real life, and through the podcast to meet or exceed her goal. She’s even learned to ride her bike in order to participate.
Consider giving a one-time donation via Paypal to help Jenna reach her goal.
*** Update *** Hear Jenna talk about missions in her latest podcast.
*** Update 2 ***
Through the kindness of: Tammy E., Sherri G., James V., Rachel Z, and a couple other unnamed folks Jenna is 53 dollars closer to her goal of $100! Thanks!
Jenna has acquired my old Palm Pre and uses it to shoot quick vlog-style videos. Here’s an example.
Be looking for new episodes of Podcast Kid coming soon!
“Merry Christmas to all of you I hope you have a fun Christmas. Thank you for listenening to my show. The people who got the Podcast Kid shirts, thank you Dads or your Moms cause they got that for you. Thank my Dad too because he made the whole store. Have a Merry Christmas!”
Jenna got a photo from Emily as she held up her Podcast Kid Tshirt. Jenna was very excited to see it.
Jenna got a lot of Zu-zu Pets, bath stuff, play makeup, art projects, some movies, a Hello Kitty game for the DS and a Sleeping bag buddy.
Dunder got an Iron Man mask, some remote controlled cars, and some Dinosaur Train toys that talk to each other.
We won’t be recording a show this week… but we’ll see you next week in 2011!
This is a piece I did to print to poster size for my son’s room. If there is interest, I could make it available for sale. Let me know.
